A Brutally Honest Review: Fruit&Fruit Bars

by torontogirlwest on June 28, 2012

As a blogger, I often have people contact me to do reviews of their products or advertise whatever they’re selling on my site. Most of the time I say no. Sometimes, when I’m shocked or offended, I ignore their requests. And then there are the rare times I agree.

On those occasions when I do say yes to a product review it is because I think the item is something that would interest my readers! Enter, Fruit&Fruit Bars!!!

A while back, Myriam from Fruit&Fruit contacted me to find out if I would be willing to sample a couple of their bars and possibly write a review. After hearing that the items were Canadian and made with 100% fruit, I jumped at the chance.

Fruit&Fruit Bars

A short while later, a package arrived at my home containing four of the company’s bars. The first thing the Husband and I did was try one bar each. We weren’t expecting much and could NOT have been more surprised!!!

These bars are amazing! They taste fresh (something sorely lacking from most supermarket bars), contain nothing but fruit, and aren’t overly sweet. The bars scored big time in the Coastal Casa – so much so that the Husband has asked me to buy a whole box!

Unfortunately, buying box loads of the bars will have to wait as they are currently only available in select Ontario and Quebec stores (click here for a full listing). But don’t despair, Myriam tells me that they plan to expand distribution to the rest of Canada soon and hopefully sell them online in the future!

Nothing but Fruit

The nutrition stats on the bars are fantastic, each bar contains two servings of fruit, they are peanut and gluten free, plus they are vegan, and completely free of preservatives!!!

I don’t usually write such resounding endorsements of a product – but you want to know the brutally honest truth!?!? I could NOT recommend the Fruit&Fruit bars more!!!!! In fact, if I were to create a bar this is exactly how I would want the end result to taste!!!!

Question: If you are from Ontario or Quebec, have you tried the bars? What did you think? If you are from another place, what do you look for in a bar?

Hmmm….they sound interesting. I think I would probably still want something with a bit more staying power/substance though, along the lines of a larabar? The flavour combos sound good though :D

You know although Larabars have nuts in them, I never find them to have huge amounts of staying power. But I hear what you’re saying – I just like how fresh these ones are!

Too bad they’re not available in Windsor.

Hello Samantha,
Hope you are doing well! Samantha, what is the name of the closest natural store from your house?
I can ask them to get the product!

“If you are from another place, what do you look for in a bar?”

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this
matter to be really something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
