Our Christmas season this year was truly blessed. We had a chance to spend part of our Holidays in Vancouver, while enjoying yet another part in beautiful Victoria. In the process, the Husband and I came to realize what a rich life we have created in this past year here in Vancouver and to what extent we are surrounded by people who care for us! It was enough to warm the coldest of winter hearts!
Seeing how far we’ve come in one year makes me so very excited for the future! Because honestly friends, the possibilities are endless!!!
I love the fact that a new year is an opportunity to create a new you . . . to set new goals and actually achieve them! And so the Husband and I have decided that our goal for 2013 will be to create a greater sense of balance in all aspects of our life . . . family, friends, careers, health, spirituality, and adventures!
So here’s to that sense of renewal in all of our lives! And here’s to wishing all of you a Happy New Year!!!

Question: How did you ring in the New Year? Are you the kind that likes to get all dressed up and head out on the town or do you like to play it more low-key? We’re kind of low-key ourselves! In fact this year, we rang in the New Year at a local restaurant surrounded by good music, yummy eats, and champagne!

Happy new year to you two!
I’m definitely a low-key kind of person. Actually I was in bed by 9pm.

That photo is gorgeous! Is that in Victoria? I need to go there someday! I like to dress up on New Years because I love sparkle, but I also like to do something low-key. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the holiday- I don’t like staying up til 12 haha.

That is Victoria!
In particular it’s in an area called Dallas Road – the mountains you see accross the water are actually in Washington’s Olympic Peninsula!
lol Isn’t it funny how midnight seems really late when you’re trying to make it to that time? I can accidentally stay up but otherwise I find it hard.

Usually, I’m a laid-back New Year’s person but I actually went out this year and it was a lot of fun. Don’t think I’d do that every year though!
Happy New Year. Sorry I missed you in Vic, but it sounds like you had a wonderful holiday time
No worries – there will be many more opportunities! We love the Island and we’ll definitely be back! Actually, I’m back for a conference in mid-April – maybe we can meet up then!

Definitely let me know when you’re about. If we end up not connecting until June, I just might have some Swiss chocolate to share!
Your NYE sounds a lot like ours! We were at a restaurant within walking distance of our place and were surrounded by wonderful friends. I was a fun, and low key night. (and then i put myself to bed while everyone else continued with the party. gotta love the post-holiday cold)
Glad you had such a wonderful break!

What a great post! We’re totally laid back for NYE, pjs, champagne, and some TV.
This year I spent part of the evening showing off some of the adoptable dogs from the shelter I volunteer with.

The wife and I went out with some friends for a nearby celebration in Cincinnati, and it was really a lot of fun! New Years Day marked the last day of a week and a half long rest period (mostly just me resting a knee, eating and drinking too much), but now it is back to training and getting right with my balance. A new year and a new set of goals! Here we go.

Eating and resting too much sounds kind of like my Holidays!
We did kick off 2013 with an 8 mile walk along the Seawall though – so I’m slowly making up for it!
